Heidi Cortner Boiesen graduated from the Faculty of Journalism, Library and Information Science at Oslo University College. She began her career as children’s librarian at Sandefjord Public Library and the Baerum Public Library at which she became Head of the School Department. She has worked as a school librarian and in 1993 became Head Librarian at Haug School and Resource Centre, Baerum. In 2002, she became Director of the IBBY Documentation Centre of Books for Disabled Young People.
