Hans Christian Andersen Awards 1956-2002

International Children's Book Day 1967-2002

International Children’s Book day is celebrated through activities on 2 April, the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen. Each year a different National Section of IBBY sponsors the event with a poster and message addressed to the children of the world. The catalogue that was specially produced for the Jubilee Congress includes the messages and posters created from 1967 to 2002.

Under the Spell of the Moon

In honour of IBBY, and to support its future work, many of the world’s greatest illustrators for children – both famous and relatively unknown – have donated a work of art based on a text of their choice drawn from their childhood and culture.
