The Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children (AWIC), the Indian section of the International Board on Books for Young People (Indian BBY) is organsing a 3 day International Conference, from the 17, 18 and 19 of September 2007, at New Delhi, to discuss and demonstrate the art of storytelling in its different forms.

Storytelling is a useful tool for creating interest in reading, essential for developing a child's personality. Precious values are handed down from one nation to another and one generation to the next through this entertaining medium.

We are happy to invite authors, researchers, performers and storytellers from all over the world to present papers and give demonstrations of storytelling with the aid of music, dance, puppetry, or through the electronic media. Students, schoolteachers, librarians and educationists are welcome to join us in celebrating the rich, common cultural heritage of all nations of the world.
