Funds: CHF 5,000-8,000 per annum to be granted – only if there are worthy candidates.
IBBY will grant partial scholarships of up to CHF 3000 for outstanding individuals for training in publishing, writing or illustrating children’s books, or reading promotion in a country other than his/her own.

Preference will be give to candidates from countries that otherwise would not be able to find sponsors for candidates to participate in such training opportunities.
All sections are eligible to propose a candidate for a scholarship.
The application must include:

- CV of the candidate
- A formal statement from the candidate as to how attendance at the course will be used personally, professionally and within the world of children’s literature in their own country.

Applications will be accepted once a year and reviewed by the Projects Subcommittee. Its recommendations will be submitted to the Executive Committee for approval at its second annual meeting.
