The main objective of this project was to help in establishing and running mobile libraries in 12 schools in remote villages in two districts of Nepal. This task was accomplished by:
- Establishing mobile libraries in community-based schools of the villages;
- Encouraging local parents, teachers and children to participate in the reading programme;
- Making the teachers, parents and the students of the villages aware of various aspects of reading promotion and management of the mobile library;
- Training the teachers, students and parents to run reading programmes and mobile libraries, and to organize sessions dedicated to storytelling, book reporting etc.
