Ahmad Redza Ahmad Khairuddin was elected as President of IBBY for the term 2012–2014 during the General Assembly of IBBY in London, UK, August 2012.  He had previously served as IBBY President for the term 2010-12.  He also served as an Executive Committee member from 2006–2010, with the term 2008-10 as Vice President.

Ahmad Redza is a businessman whose main interest lies in publishing and the distribution of books.  He has more than 15 years of experience in publishing, distribution and retailing, and his publishing house, Mahir Holdings Group, is currently one of the leading privately-owned publishing houses in Malaysia.

He obtained a Diploma in Investment Analysis from the MARA University of Technology, Malaysia, a Bachelors of Business in Business Administration from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and a Masters of Business Administration from Ohio University, USA.

He has a strong passion for children and their education and has steered his business to fulfill the needs in that particular area by the publication and distribution of educational books and children's literature.  He is active in the Malaysian book industry and is currently the President of the Malaysian Board on Books for Young People (MBBY), after serving as its Vice President since 2005.  Prior to that he served on several committees set up under the National Book Council of Malaysia for the development of the book industry of Malaysia.

His involvement in the field of education includes serving as a Member of the Board for MARA University of Technology, Malaysia (2005-10). During his time on the Board he also sat in various committees representing the Board and oversaw the fruition of the university’s business arm and became its first Chairman until his term ended in May 2010.  He was also active with the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) activities and was Chairman of the Malaysian SIFE Advisory Board since in inception in 2008 until 2011.  He was a founding member of SIFE Malaysia Foundation and served as member of the Board of Trustees from June to September 2011.  He is also the Chairman of a Parent-Teacher Association for a primary school as well as for a residential secondary school, both of which have been recognized as ‘high performing schools’ by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
