Commentary
Oumarou is persuaded by his second wife to chase his first wife and his father from home; however, everything ends happily thanks to the intervention of Oumarou’s son. The lively style and tasteful language of this dynamic play reveal the difficulties of living in a polygamous household, and advise harmony and understanding among family members (and the prevention of too frequent births). Written by a well-known author from Burkina Faso, this is one of the few plays for children in French-speaking Africa.
