The National Section of Uzbekistan was established in January 2022 as part of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Agency is an authorized body in the field of developing and implementing a unified state information policy, as well as supporting the development of the media, printing and publishing, and information and library activities.

The main goal of the National Section of Uzbekistan is to unite creative and social forces in the development and popularization of national literature for children and youth at the international level.

The following organizations are members of the National Section of Uzbekistan:

- The Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- The Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- The Writers' Union of Uzbekistan;

- The Republican Center of Spirituality and Enlightenment;

- The National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi;

- The Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On 5th-8th September 2022, a delegation from the National Section of Uzbekistan took part in the 38th IBBY General Assembly at Putrajaya, Malaysia.

As part of the III Tashkent International Book Fair Tashkent Book Fest 2022 held in November 2nd-4th 2022, the National Section of Uzbekistan organized an exhibition stand presenting the 2019 IBBY Selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities.
