IBBY Nepal: Developing wordless picture books for Nepalese children

There is a general lack of quality books for children in Nepal, including wordless picture books that are suitable for young children and can meet the needs of a multilingual school class. Over a period of seven months, through workshops involving writers, illustrators, editors and designers, books were created and tested with children of different mother tongues and those with hearing defects. The project produced seven picture books that can be distributed to school libraries, including remote areas.
