Workshop for school and public librarians in Cote d'Ivoire

This project was postponed until November 2013 due to civil unrest in Cote d'Ivoire. The National Library of Cote d’Ivoire has the mission of promoting and developing public libraries, including children’s libraries. There are currently no public children’s libraries and only 40 school libraries in the country. The workshop for librarians focused on the issues of the importance of reading for children and young people and presented an overview of children’s books. It also introduced basic library programmes of reading aloud and book presentation as well as a meeting with authors, publishers and booksellers.
