Exhibitions
IBBY provides collections of books as travelling exhibitions. The price for bulk copies of the catalogues is available on request. The shipping of the books to and from the IBBY Secretariat has to be paid for by the exhibitor.
Exhibitions available at present:
Honour List
The exhibition comprises the complete collection of the most recent Honour List selection: approximately 180 titles. Every two years a new selection of outstanding titles is made by the National Sections and is first shown during the IBBY Congress. Subsequently the Honour List collection is shown at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
The 2020 Honour List is now touring Russia and will be shown at the IBBY Congress in Moscow in September 2021. The 2020 Honour List is also touring Japan and will be sent to Seoul where it will tour in Korea before going to IBBY Malaysia. As it was not possible to show the 2020 Honour List at the Bologna Book Fair in 2021, it is hoped to exhibit the books in Bologna in 2022.
The exhibition of the 2018 Honour List collection was launched in Canberra, Australia in October 2018. A collection of all the Australian Honour Books was also displayed, and an IBBY Australia Honour Books Annotated List 1962–2018 was created to accompany them. The 2018 Honour List was also exhibited in Seoul, Korea.
The 2016 Honour List collection was exhibited at the Bologna Children’s Books Fair in March 2017 and thereafter toured in the UK. The collection was also shown at the ABRAXAS Festival in Zug, Switzerland in November 2017. JBBY hosted a travelling exhibition that toured throughout Japan during 2017 and 2018.

Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities
This regular selection of titles that are suitable for young people with disabilities is a collection of approximately 50 titles per selection. Each selection is first shown at the IBBY stand at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and then is available as a travelling exhibition. The HIVE Centre at the University of Worcester, UK hosts a permanent exhibition of the Selection of Outstanding Books for Young People as a special research collection.
The 2019 selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities was launched at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2019. After that the books were exhibited in Italy, France, Japan, Frankfurt Book Fair, USA, Shanghai Book Fair, Ukraine and Korea.
The 2017 selection of Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities was first shown during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2017. The books were subsequently shown in Italy, Japan, UK, USA, China, Ireland, Slovakia and at the IBBY Congress in Athens, Greece.
The 2015 Selection was first shown during the Bologna Book Fair in 2015 and then in Italy, Japan, Ukraine, UK and USA as well as at the Frankfurt Book Fair and the IBBY Congress in Auckland, New Zealand.

Silent Books
In response to the waves of immigrants landing on the island of Lampedusa, IBBY Italy created a collection of silent books (wordless picture books) that could be understood and enjoyed by children regardless of language. These books were collected from IBBY National Sections, initially, over one hundred books from over twenty countries in 2013 and then smaller collections in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
The 2019 Silent Booksselection comprises 67 books from 16 countries and was shown at the 2019 Bologna Children's Book Fair. Thus far, the selection has been shown in Korea, New Zealand and Australia.
The 2017 Silent Books selection comprises 79 titles from 20 countries. The selection was displayed in Bologna and other venues in Italy and will be exhibited at the IBBY Congress in Athens and then in UAE, Serbia, USA, Switzerland and UK/Scotland.
The 2015 Silent Books selection comprises 51 books from 18 countries. The selection has been exhibited in various venues in Italy, New Zealand (at the IBBY Congress 2016), UAE, Finland and Ukraine.
The 2013 Silent Books selectioncomprises 110 books from 23 countries and has been exhibited in various venues in Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland and various venues in the UK and Italy.
