IBBY-Yamada 2022: Cuba

The land in which I was born - the significance of high-quality books in communication proficiency and shaping cultural identity.

This workshop builds on projects funded by the IBBY-Yamada Fund in 2016 and 2019 which aimed at  recognising, selecting and using good-quality books for children and the living legacy of the Hans Christian Andersen Award. The theme of The land in which I was born looks at the significance of high-quality books in communication proficiency and shaping the cultural identity of children. As before, the focus is on the training and development of mediators in their knowledge of the reading material and their tools of communicating this material to children. The workshop integrates both theoretical (literary analysis) and practical (concrete tasks) activities.
